Located in Malaga, Western Power is upgrading Northern Terminal’s 132kV and 330kV stations to boost the northern network’s transmission capacity. Site preparation work is commencing from mid-2025, with construction continuing until 2027.

The upgrade will facilitate future line conversions and the connection of Northern Terminal to Neerabup Terminal transmission line, which will significantly increase the flow of clean energy to and from the area. The works involve expansion within the terminal site and upgrading electrical equipment to support the terminal.

All construction work will be confined to the existing terminal site located at the intersection of Beach Road and Malaga Drive in Malaga, with site access primarily via Beach and Weir Roads.
