Western Power is upgrading the existing 132kV substation and 330kV terminal Neerabup Terminal to increase the northern network’s transmission capacity. Site preparation work is commencing from mid-2025, with construction continuing until 2027.
The upgrade will facilitate future line conversions and the connection of Northern Terminal to Neerabup Terminal transmission line, which will significantly increase the flow of clean energy to and from the area. The works involve expansion within the terminal site and upgrading electrical equipment to support the terminal.
All construction work will be confined to the existing terminal site, with site access via Ziatas Road in the Shire of Gingin.
