Power upgrades coming to South Yunderup
Western Power is installing new infrastructure in the growing South Yunderup area to provide reliable power and meet future supply needs.
This South Yunderup project is part of the Housing and Infrastructure Growth Program, which is a Federal and State Government initiative. The project includes the installation of new underground cabling and primary equipment to support new housing development.
The project works are scheduled to start mid-2026 and finished by mid-2028.
Scope of works
The project involves installing an underground cable from Pinjarra Substation on Paterson Road to our existing network on Lloyd Avenue in South Yunderup. This new connection will supply power to a new housing development at Austin Lakes, west of the Forrest Highway in South Yunderup.
The cable route travels along the following roads:
- Paterson Road
- Old Mandurah Road
- Drakesbrook Avenue
- Nancarrow Way
- Lloyd Avenue.
