Future proofing WA’s Energy Transition by looking after Country

3 June 2026

As Western Australia moves toward a cleaner energy future, protecting the natural environment remains central to how projects like Clean Energy Link are delivered. A key part of this commitment is native seed collection; an approach grounded in practical stewardship and respect for Country.

To help minimise environmental impact, our teams collect native seeds from project areas before any clearing begins. These seeds are carefully preserved and later used to rehabilitate disturbed land and restore surrounding ecosystems. By reintroducing locally sourced species, we help maintain the unique biodiversity of the area while supporting long-term environmental health.

This work helps to protect the landscapes we work in and encourages recovery of the local area. Seed collection enables us to return native vegetation that is resilient, regionally appropriate, and important for local wildlife.

Seed collection is helping to balance infrastructure development with environmental care supporting WA’s energy transition while actively looking after Country for generations to come.
