Project information
Power upgrades are coming to Yanchep
Western Power is installing new infrastructure in the growing Yanchep area to improve power reliability and meet future supply needs.
This Yanchep project is part of the Housing and Infrastructure Growth Program, which is a Federal and State Government initiative. The project includes the installation of new underground cabling and primary equipment to support new housing development.
To minimise disruption for customers, these works will be combined with our Summer Ready maintenance program, which strengthens network resilience and helps manage bushfire risk ahead of extreme weather.
The project works will take place between January and October 2026.
Scope of works
The project involves installing three sections of underground cable from the Yanchep Substation on Romeo Road in Carabooda to connect new housing developments north-west of Yanchep train station.
The three sections are:
- Cable Route 1: Along Wanneroo Road (Carabooda) and Pipidinny Road (Eglinton)
- Cable Route 2: Along Marmion Avenue (Yanchep) and Marmion Road (Eglinton)
- Cable Route 3: Along Toreopango Avenue (Yanchep).
