Power upgrades are coming to Mundijong

Western Power is installing new infrastructure in the growing Mundijong area to provide reliable power and meet future supply needs.

This Mundijong West project is part of the Housing and Infrastructure Growth Program, which is a Federal and State Government initiative. The project includes the installation of new underground cabling and primary equipment to support new development.

Works are scheduled to start in mid-2026 and finish by mid-2027.

Scope of works

The project involves installing 23km of underground cable from the Medina Substation on Abercrombie Road in Postans to connect a new development west of Kargotich Road in Mundijong.

The cable route will be located along the following roads:

  • Thomas Road
  • Nye Way
  • Orelia Avenue
  • Nunnery Road
  • Dunster Way
  • Belvoir Crescent
  • Colchester Avenue
  • Sulphur Road
  • Durrant Avenue
  • Sicklemore Road
  • Holden Close
  • Orton Road
  • King Road
  • Gossage Road
  • Kargotich Road.
